Transportation

Easy access to the Metro Denver transportation system through a well-planned roadway system is a significant part of the amenities package that makes Interlocken a unique corporate location. Several new transportation projects in and around Interlocken improve traffic flow in and out of the business park and help to minimize congestion.

Northwest Parkway

The Northwest Parkway was formed under an intergovern-mental agreement among Broomfield, Lafayette and Louis-ville. It cleared the way for construction of the 10-mile, limited-access highway connecting U.S. Hwy. 36 and I-25, and will provide direct access between Interlocken and DIA commencing in 2004.

and Interlocken Bus Service

A new RTD Park-'n-Ride facility on the northeast side of 96th Street interchange handles vehicular, pedestrian, and mass transit traffic, and is linked to the Interlocken side of U.S. Hwy. 36 via an underpass.RTD also provides bus service through Interlocken.

96th Street Northwest Parkway

New interchanges on U.S. Hwy. 36 have been completed, primarily to serve the new FlatIron Crossing mall. These new improvements have reduced traffic on the 96th Street interchange to US 36. The new interchanges have made access into Interlocken via 96th Street much more direct and uncongested.

U.S. HWY. 36 Transportation Management Organization

Employee transportation issues are the focus of the U.S. Hwy. 36 Transportation Management Organization, a public-private partnership created to address traffic congestion and air quality problems in the corridor. Funded through federal grants and contributions from Broomfield, the public-private partnership will work to enhance public accessibility and mobility in the U.S. Hwy. 36 corridor. The TMO's goals are to serve as a collective voice for the U.S. Hwy. 36 corridor in addressing transportation issues, to enhance participation and investment in transportation services and programs, and to increase awareness and use of alternative transportation services.
