Infrastructure

All Interlocken infrastructure is built not only to exceed the needs of today, but to meet the demands of the 21st Century. Roadways, utilities, telecommunications and sewage systems are all constructed to exceed future capacity upon projected buildout. State-of-the-art electrical power and telecommunications systems within Interlocken are unique in Colorado, unavailable elsewhere in Denver and necessary to support the advanced technology companies attracted to the Denver-Boulder Corridor and locating in Interlocken.

Telecommunications

Interlocken provides underground concrete-encased fiber-optic telecommunications systems capable of voice, data and video transmission. Primary service is provided by US WEST, but the existence of two Competitive Access Providers (CAPSs), ICG and TCG, provides a diversity of service and competitive rate options.

Electricity

Interlocken is served by a multi-plant generation and transmission grid. Underground and protected, this dual-feed loop system creates a reliable, redundant source of electricity and minimizes the potential for "brownouts."

Other Infrastructure Features

Potable water and sanitary service is provided by the city of Broomfield, with system capacities capable of supporting more than twice the city's current growth rate and size.

Irrigation water is provided by Interlocken utilizing recycled and nonpotable water sources with systems owned and operated by Interlocken, providing a drought-proof source of supply.
