FlatIron Crossing opened in August 2000. The 1.5 million square foot indoor-outdoor shopping experience has changed the way people shop in the Denver-Boulder corridor. With its exceptional design that is a response to the active, outdoor lifestyle of the area, this regional shopping destination is home to Dillard's, Nordstrom, Foley's, Lord & Taylor and Galyan's, and over 200 exceptional retail shops, restaurants and cafes. FlatIron Crossing, conveniently located on US 36 at the StorageTek/ Interlocken Loop exit, is the country's first shopping center to provide a fully integrated, indoor-outdoor shopping environment. It does so seamlessly through a 1.2 million square foot shopping center combined with two distinct park settings and the FlatIron Crossing Village - a 240,000 square foot streetscape outdoor shopping area reminiscent of popular shopping districts in the Denver-Boulder market. For the Interlocken community, FlatIron Crossing brings to the area a shopping center designed with natural materials reflective of Colorado with an abundance of sunlight that is home to a vibrant retail and restaurant mix currently not found in northern Colorado. Crate & Barrel, P.F. Chang's China Bistro, J. Jill, Gordon Biersch, and Restoration Hardware are only a handful of the world class retailers making their first presence in northern Colorado. |
FlatIron Crossing is the destination for employees to meet for lunch or dinner, catch a movie, or shop through a collection of local, national and international retail stores. The Center's close proximity to Interlocken allows quick access by car, bus, bike or pedestrian transportation while the Center's services - Internet access, FlatIron Crossing blankets (for picnics in the surrounding parks), valet, shuttle service and other conveniences simplify each employee's shopping experience. As a regional shopping destination, FlatIron Crossing draws from a shopper base that not only attracts shoppers from the 6-county metro area, but also from the mountain communities and neighboring states visiting Colorado. Nordstrom selected Broomfield over locations in Boulder, Westminster, Golden and Arvada. Nordstrom's decision demonstrates the new vitality imagined when Broomfield voters approved the 96th Street Interchange in 1993. Just as voters thought, the interchange has resulted in new, prosperous development where developers are paying their own way. FlatIron Crossing dramatically increases Broomfield's property and sales tax bases. From FlatIron Crossing to Sun Microsystems Inc.'s decision to locate at Interlocken, the 96th Street Interchange master plan has proven a successful initiative to increase the tax base and create jobs. |
